Mr. Kahn has been in private practice since 1975, successfully trying cases in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has litigated a broad range of civil matters, including real estate, breach of contract and commercial claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, will contests, fraud, personal injury, medical malpractice claims, divorce, and custody .  For example, he has secured damage awards for clients in trials against their former business partners for breach of contract and fiduciary duty and fraud.  He successfully defended an attorney at trial and on appeal against charges of ethical violations brought by the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission. He has successfully litigated and favorably settled numerous medical malpractice and personal injury claims.  He successfully appealed an order which had required the majority shareholder of a corporation to issue shares of stock to the company's minority shareholder. He successfully appealed a judgment entered against the sole shareholder of a corporation for a corporate debt. He successfully appealed a judgment entered against a commercial landlord in favor of a tenant on the ground that he had been denied his right to a jury trial.

Born in New York City in 1950, Mr. Kahn has lived in the D.C. metropolitan area since 1972. Mr. Kahn was given early admittance to Phi Beta Kappa in 1971 and graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University in 1972. He received his law degree from Georgetown University in 1975. While attending law school, he represented servicemen in hearings at the Pentagon before the Army and Air Force Discharge Review Boards. In 1977, he received clinical training at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in the District of Columbia. After graduating from Georgetown, Mr. Kahn assisted in the representation of John Erlichman, Assistant to President Nixon, in federal criminal and civil cases arising from Mr. Erlichman’s involvement in the “Watergate Affair." Mr. Kahn also assisted in the representation of an engineering firm before the Nuclear Regulatory Commision in connection with its work at Three Mile Island.

Mr. Kahn is admitted to practice law in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Circuit Court for the District of Columbia and the United States Circuit Court for the Fourth Circuit. Additionally, he has appeared pro hac vice (special admission) in state courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Oregon and California.
